Why is my blog called "oola lockets"?
Ok it is a slight play on words, let me explain!
This is my professional blog for my Origami Owl business, which we also call O2 or OO since it is two letter "O" words. Obviously.
I wanted something creative and unique for my blog and business name, and at first started with SuchAh00t but quickly found that another designer had something similar (using the letter "O" in place of the #0 in the word "H00t" that I was using.
Well what did this cause? A heck of a lot of confusion among my customers and friends! LoL I suppose I was not considering the fact that most people would use the letters rather than opting for the numbers and well sometimes on a business card they look ironically the same (seriously, font's need to work on putting a dash through the number 0 so as to avoid confusion when the number and letter look alike) serious business killer right there!
Ok back on track now, then I thought of the saying "oola la" ya know, like the French say? LoL My Husband speaks French so that is what gave me the idea, which is sort of funny considering I have a German mother and Italian father (not one smiggen of French).
So what did lead me to? Instead of using "oola la lockets" I realized that the beginning of the word "locket" has a similar sound to "la"... See what I did there??
So "oo" (for the O2 or Origami Owl), "la" to make it like (oolala) and "lockets" for the replacement of the second "la" and to showcase what my business is all about!
Give it a try! Say "oola la" then try out my blog name "oola lockets" ;)
Now as I stated, this is all about lockets! Lockets you say? Yep, lockets..and these are not your Grandmothers lockets! At Origami Owl we have perfected "Living Lockets" and "Floating Charms"...quite a beautiful concept indeed!
What you have is a glass locket, so obviously see through...then we have perfectly crafted, hand painted charms that fit inside of the locket! Imagine a charm bracelet...in a necklace! Oh yea, it is that neat. A lost of my postings are going to be more visual than wordy in that I want to showcase the beauty and uniqueness of each locket...I do not want to overtake the posts with my words!
Now that does not mean that I will not be active in the words department, I will have many posts with motivational quotes, stories and upcoming hostess rewards and giveaways...so you are not going to get rid of me that easily!
I also have a webpage where you can see all of the charms, lockets and jewelry:
